The Power of Stories - Digital Storytelling
April 13, 2026
Hello everyone,
I am Nurullah. The The Power of Stories - Digital Storytelling project I joined in Poland became one of the most unforgettable and instructive periods of my life. Over that week I did not only learn the techniques of digital storytelling; I also had the chance to discover myself, build strong bonds with different people and be part of a creative process.
The First Days and the Bonds We Built
At the start we were people from different corners of the world who had never met. We had different characters, different cultures and different life experiences. But thanks to the creative activities and energetic games our trainers prepared, the invisible walls between us came down very quickly.
Seeing a group of complete strangers grow together into strong friendship within just a few days was one of the most striking parts of the project. In no time we were laughing, creating, sharing and understanding one another.
The Marina and My Professional Perspective
As a naval architecture student, the location carried a particular meaning for me. Because the venue where we trained and stayed was inside a marina, I had the chance to study dozens of different yachts up close every day.
Seeing the ship and yacht designs I had learned about in theory alive in such a beautiful setting was very valuable. Working beside the sea, in a marina atmosphere, let me blend my technical curiosity with an artistic perspective. In that sense the project gave me a great deal not only socially and culturally but in my professional outlook.
The Digital Storytelling Experience
In the sessions on digital storytelling, turning my own thoughts into a narrative looked difficult at first, but over time it renewed my confidence in expressing myself. Voicing my own text and turning it into a concrete piece supported by visuals was a very special experience that sparked my creativity.
It showed me that a story is not made of words alone. When sound, image, emotion and personal experience come together, something very powerful emerges. Creating my own story and turning it into a digital piece was unforgettable.
Watching the Videos Together
The moment at the end when we all sat down and watched the videos we had made was priceless. Every video held a different world, a different feeling and a different perspective. Seeing everyone present their story so sincerely and so distinctively moved me deeply.
In that moment I understood better that digital storytelling is not only technical work: it is a powerful method that brings people closer, builds empathy and lets you touch other lives.
Memories outside the Training
Outside the sessions, our walks along the shore, the culture nights in the evenings and the sincere conversations we shared showed me how much my communication had improved. Creating towards a shared aim with people from other cultures gave me a very wide perspective.
I did not only learn new things; I also saw how valuable it is to meet people from other countries in shared feeling. Every moment together made the experience more meaningful.
Farewell and Thanks
When it was time to say goodbye, the tears and tight embraces showed us again how deep the bonds we had built in such a short time were. I will carry this project in my heart not just as a training course but as a turning point I will always remember with a smile.
My sincere thanks to KOZ-DER for opening this door, and to all our trainers for making us feel so comfortable, so valued and so safe. This experience will always hold a very special place for me.
