Sometimes you think you have said goodbye to a place, but it stays on as a part of you. For me, Madan is exactly that kind of place.

I am Simge. I am 23, and through KOZ-DER I was back on the road to Madan for ten days for the Truth or Trick Erasmus+ project.

Being in Madan Again

Stepping back into a town where I had already collected such good memories was a very special feeling. Madan’s familiar streets, its warm atmosphere and the chance to live another Erasmus+ experience there made this project unforgettable for me.

This time, as part of the KOZ-DER family, I came together again with young people from other countries. It was a wonderful week of learning, sharing and feeling that I belonged.

What the Project Was About

Our focus was on something that surrounds us constantly in today’s world: fake news, information pollution and the mechanics of propaganda.

With young people from other countries we discussed how media can bend the truth, how we should question what we meet on social media and why critical thinking matters so much.

It made me realise again how critical a subject we were building awareness of.

What It Meant to Me

The most special part was returning to a Madan where I had already collected good memories, and living that experience again through KOZ-DER.

A wonderful week of learning, sharing and the warmth of familiar streets is now behind me.

Every return brings a new awareness; every project, a new story.
