The Power of Stories

About the Project

The Power of Stories is an international Erasmus+ training course taking place in Puck, Poland between 13.04.2026 and 21.04.2026. The project equips youth workers and active volunteers — particularly those working with young people at risk of exclusion — with digital tools and methods.

Participants take part in hands-on work on digital storytelling, short film production, scriptwriting, audio recording, producing visuals and video editing. The aim is for participants both to produce their own digital story and to learn how to use the method in their work with young people.

Participant Profile

The project is designed for youth workers and active volunteers in NGOs or related organisations who want to support young people at risk. Participants should live in an Erasmus+ programme country, be open to learning the digital storytelling method and be willing to use it in their work with young people.

Participants need to be able to speak and write English, be willing to produce their own short film and be over 18. No previous filmmaking experience is required.

Accommodation and Meals

Participants stay at the Harcerski Ośrodek Morski centre in Puck, on the Polish Baltic coast. The venue has comfortable rooms, a large training hall and additional spaces for small group work.

Three meals a day and two coffee breaks are provided. Towels are supplied by the venue and hairdryers are available at reception. Participants share rooms with people of the same gender but different nationalities. Single rooms are not available. A vegetarian option is available; participants with specific dietary needs should let the organisers know at least one week before arrival.

Travel Support

The nearest international airport is Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa. If there is no suitable connection, Warsaw Chopin or Warsaw Modlin can also be used. Participants are expected to reach Puck on 13 April and depart on 21 April.

Please arrange travel only after receiving official confirmation of your participation. Do not start searching for tickets, arranging insurance or making other preparations before that. The total travel budget is 309 Euro, so please check ticket prices before you apply.

Expected Outcomes

• Participants gain knowledge of the digital storytelling method
• Basic skills in short film production are acquired
• New digital tools and methods for youth work are learned
• Practical methods for working with young people with fewer opportunities are developed
• Participants gain the competence to use the method in their own local communities

Important Notes

• Each participant should bring a laptop or tablet for video editing
• Headphones are recommended
• Participants are asked to bring a small personal object that means something to them
• Bring a camera if you have one
• Old personal photographs may be brought if you wish
• April weather can be changeable, so comfortable and waterproof clothing is recommended
