Truth or Trick? Click with Care

Truth or Trick? Click with Care is an international Erasmus+ training course focused on fighting disinformation, critical thinking, and media literacy in the digital environment.

About the Project

Truth or Trick? Click with Care is an eight-day Erasmus+ training course taking place in Madan, Bulgaria between 13.07.2026 and 20.07.2026. Participants are expected to arrive on the afternoon or evening of 12 July and depart on the morning of 21 July.

The project focuses on the growing problem of disinformation online. Rather than passively consuming online content, participants work towards becoming more aware, critically minded and responsible digital citizens.

The training is entirely hands-on: participants analyse news items, posts, videos and social media content, and learn to spot fake news, manipulation techniques and hidden messaging.

Core Activities

  • Analysing fake news and manipulative content
  • Building source- and fact-checking skills
  • Understanding how algorithms work
  • Discussing why something going viral does not make it true
  • Examining the effect of emotion, fear and sensational headlines
  • Recognising personal responsibility in what we share online
  • Case studies, group work and role-play activities
  • Developing tools and methods youth workers can use in their own communities

Participant Profile

The project suits participants aged 18 and over who work in the youth field and are interested in media literacy, digital safety, critical thinking and countering disinformation.

Three participants each will join from Türkiye, Romania, Greece, Hungary and Lithuania, and four each from Bulgaria and North Macedonia. A gender balance is encouraged.

It is a particularly good fit for people working with young people who can pass on what they learn in their school, organisation or community.

Accommodation and Meals

Three meals a day are provided. Participants with specific dietary needs — vegetarian, vegan, halal, allergies — should let the organisers know in advance. If you follow a very particular diet and need products that may not be available in Bulgaria, you are advised to bring them with you.

Accommodation details are provided by the project organisers.

Travel Support

Travel costs are reimbursed according to the Erasmus+ distance band calculator. Green travel is encouraged, so participants are asked to choose trains, car sharing and similar environmentally friendly options wherever possible.

Expected Outcomes

  • Participants become better at recognising disinformation and fake news
  • Capacity to evaluate digital content critically increases
  • Youth workers develop new tools they can use in their own communities
  • Awareness of media literacy and digital citizenship grows
  • Participants develop a more conscious, responsible and proactive digital attitude
