We Explored the History of Kilis with No More Walls, Europe Calls

Within the scope of the Erasmus+ No More Walls, Europe Calls Youth Exchange Project, a city tour was organised with 25 participants from four countries to explore the historical and cultural values of Kilis.

During the city tour, participants visited Canpolat Paşa Youth Centre, Prof. Dr. Alaeddin Yavaşca Cultural Centre, the Historical Çağlasyan Mansion, where ÇATOM provides services, and Saltuk Bey Mansion. During the visits, participants received information about Kilis’ stone architecture, cultural heritage, traces of traditional life and youth-oriented activities.

The Cultural Heritage of Kilis Was Introduced

Throughout the trip, participants had the opportunity to witness the stories Kilis carries from the past to the present. Through the cultural introductions made at historical sites, young people learned more closely about the city’s cultural texture, architectural features and local values.

Each stop created an important space for participants to gain new knowledge and experience intercultural learning. Young people from different countries walked through the historical streets of Kilis, bringing cultures, stories and friendships together on the same journey.

Contribution to Intercultural Learning

The No More Walls, Europe Calls project aims to bring young people together with peers from different cultures, strengthen mutual understanding and create shared learning experiences. In line with this aim, the Kilis cultural trip contributed to helping participants discover Türkiye’s local culture and build a stronger connection with the city.
