Gaziantep Cultural Trip Held within the Scope of the No More Walls, Europe Calls Project

Within the scope of the Erasmus+ project No More Walls, Europe Calls, implemented by Children with Special Needs, a cultural trip was organised to introduce participants to the historical and cultural heritage of Gaziantep.

During the project, the aim was not only to involve young people from different countries in educational activities, but also to help them discover the history, culture, gastronomy and social life of the region. In this context, important cultural sites in Gaziantep were visited and participants were informed about the city’s rich historical and cultural background.

Historical and Cultural Sites Were Visited

As part of the trip programme, participants visited the 25 December Panorama Museum, Kitchen Museum, Hamam Museum, Zeugma Mosaic Museum, Gaziantep Station, Antep Bazaar, Coppersmiths’ Bazaar and Elmacı Bazaar.

During the visits, participants received information about Gaziantep’s historical background, its importance during the War of Independence, traditional culinary culture, hamam culture, handicrafts and commercial life. In particular, the Zeugma Mosaic Museum and the 25 December Panorama Museum contributed to participants’ understanding of Gaziantep’s historical and cultural identity.

Intercultural Learning and Local Promotion

The Gaziantep trip created an important intercultural learning space for the project participants. Young people from different countries had the opportunity to explore Türkiye’s local culture, traditional lifestyles and the hospitality of the region while visiting the city’s historical sites.

During the visits to Antep Bazaar, Coppersmiths’ Bazaar and Elmacı Bazaar, participants closely observed traditional handicrafts, local products and Gaziantep’s lively bazaar culture. The visits to the Kitchen Museum and Hamam Museum also helped make the city’s daily life, food culture and social history more visible.

Cultural Contribution to the Project

No More Walls, Europe Calls aims to bring young people from different cultures together, reduce prejudices, strengthen mutual understanding and create a more inclusive learning environment within the framework of European values.

The Gaziantep cultural trip became one of the important activities contributing to these aims. Participants discovered the historical and cultural texture of the region while sharing a common learning and exploration experience with their peers from different countries.
